Dhanvantri Road Bengaluru October 2016

Chapter 004 | Titled: Naavu Idhevi (We exist)

Our fourth project was one of a kind. On Dhanvanthri Road in Bangalore, stands the mural of a very significant citizen - the trans-person, reminding us of their existence in today's dense society. “The project proposes to remind people of our inherent acceptance of gender fluidity”. The colour blurs the world around them, drawing eyes as they declare Naavu Idhevi (We Exist). The project is a collaboration of 5 transgenders who painted with their heart and soul.

St+art Dispatch 4 - Aravani Art Project.

Our #startblr Dispatch tells the story of the Aravani Art Project, a collective that aims to change the societal perception about transgenders using visual arts. In this video, our Founder Poornima Sukumar and Purushi talk intimately about the project and how it has shaped their personal growth and development as conscious citizens sensitive to and respectful of diversity.
